Advice Re Remortgaging Please

Our 3 year discounted with Abbey is not up for renewal until July 2007 but I am really dreading it. We bought our flat under the old Homebuy scheme in 2002 and it was a nightmare getting the mortgage. In the end we managed to get it with Abbey. When we came to renew in 2004 we could not choose from all the deals on offer with the Abbey as we had a second charge on the property (the Homebuy scheme). This will probably be the case this time around so would like to consider moving the mortgage to another provider but the thought gives me hot sweats!!!

My husband is employed and I am self employed. Can anyone advise me of a mortgage lender who would be worth approaching?

You need to speak to a broker. There are a few out there that could help but with the second charge, homebuyers and the fact you are self employed and you did not say what type of property you have it would be in your best interest to speak to a whole of market independent fees free broker.
