Aldi fresh whole chicken

Do any of you buy the Aldi fresh whole chickens? I haven't bought them ever but heard someone in the shop talking today and they said they were lovely. Are they british? They were £2.99 which seems very reasonable as they were quite big.
I used to always buy free range but I just can't afford it any more and we all like chicken and a whole chicken goes quite a long way. I would be interested to hear what you all recommend if you don't buy free range.

I have only got the £5 one but it was really good0

I buy the Aldi chickens, they are British and have the Red Tractor logo( I know this is only a minimum standard mark but it does mean a little).
Taste wise and meat quality/quantity and find them better than the likes of Tesco etc. #HTH0 -
I bought some of their diced chicken last week - I don't know if it's from the same supplier but that was lovely. I just felt a bit guilty as I usually buy free range - though taste-wise we couldn't tell the difference."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I buy these too, very nice,I think most people would buy free range if they could but I refuse to make myself miserable by feeling guilty for not being able to afford it.Slimming World at target0

I've been buying them for the past month, they just over less than half the price I was previously paying elsewhere and they taste great!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0

We buy Aldi's free range chickens at £4.99 each and they are lovely. They are supposed to weigh 1.5 kilos, but if you sort through you can find much heavier ones weighing over 1.8 kilos. We get 6 meals off one of these.0

My local aldi is doing 2 good sized chicken legs for 99p, can vouch for these for those not needing a whole chicken, they were delicious
