Not the nicest of topics, but has anyone got any advice on holding back sweat under arms? I'm losing £50 shirts every so often as they get so manky owing to this. Is there any tactic I'm missing out on?

Deodorant?
Vanish or something similar in washing machine?
Change shirt evey day?
If all else fails buy cheaper shirts and then dont find throwing them away.0 -

Totally agree. Had the same problems. Used Dricolor, was stingy the first couple of nights but after that it's ok.
Went from needing it daily, then weekly and now I only use it every few months.
get it from the Chemist from behind the counter, it's cheaper than off the shelf.0 -
Good luck, you obviously care about your appearance and hygiene so this must be very annoying for you.[/QUOTE]
It's more the cost than anything else. Nothing is more frustrating than having bought a £50 shirt which six months later is beyond use. Except of course discovering 6 months later it's beyond use after having spent 20 minutes perfectly ironing before noticing yellowing.:mad:0 -
Sit very still.....counting down the time I got left.:beer:0

Ok, bought driclor as advised out of boots and put it on last night. The stinging is annoying as hell but as someone who has eczema it's something I've learned to live with. Hopefully this fades away. I don't think it stops sweating 100% but it has massively reduced it so it definitely appears worth the higher cost.0

When I used it, the first 2 nights were really stingy and didn't get much sleep, after that it wasn't too bad.
Before I used it I was sweating all the time, even if I wasn't warm I was still soaking under the arms. Using the driclor was an amazing difference.
Hope it works for you, good luck0 -
Make sure your pits are completely dry before applying - talc or a hair dryer (on cool setting). That should stop the stinging. I'm currently using Perspirex which is the same type of antiperspirant as driclor.
Good luck. Thanks to all posters for being so generous with your finds!0 -
I have night sweats due to me going through the menapause at a young age. The sweating then started during the day and it was uncontrollable. The doctor prescribed me something called pro-banthine and my sweating stopped completely. It's very very effective but is presciption only.
I hope this helps you.0
