hi and welcome aboard
1st thing 1st you should post an SOA, see southern scousers post at the top of the screen
you are in the right place everyone is brilliant on here
with regard to make extra cash, have u tried mystery shopping, there is a good thread on here lurkin about with all the companies on it
xxMarried my amazing hubby on 8th September 2012 :j:j0 -
Theres a thread on the mortgage free wannabe board called "a bit on the side" it has lots of ideas for extra work.
Of course theres ebaying/amazoning like mad too..you'll be surprised on what items you can sell to make a little more.
Keep clicking on those cashback sites though, it does take a while but a little money will come in on them...and as they say every little counts
I'd definitely second saintlys advice of posting a SOA on here, people may be able to point out where you could save money and sometimes you dont even realise it.
Try cooking from scratch its cheaper, giving up sky?, mobile, check your electric/gas, insurances etc.
Shopping using vouchers, especially if your supermarket accepts them all...if not you can sell them on ebay too.
I'd go through this site with a paper and pad in hand and note down all the bits and pieces you could do to make a change, thats what I did and it really helped.
Good luck

hi guys!!
thanks for the advice there, im at work now but when i get home ill rifle through the paper work toget an exact SOA to the penny - im not cutting corners this time!! :T
Fortunately i dont live on my own so dont have to worry about gas, sky etc, its just 2 separate loans i have totalling £3k that i borrowed (interest is silly though cos of my credit rating) and 2 cr cards..
Most of my debt is to my parents but its not long till its gone.. im struggling now though and ill do anything to get rid of it sooner!!
As i said ill get a full SOA on here for some objective views then im gonna start doing everything possible to sort myself out... its gettin embarrasing!0 -
hey ok well my SOA is as follows..
iv done the snowball and i make (after tax and train ticket comes off my wage)
£760
total outgoings to cover my bills = £715..
It looks pretty awful dont it but ill be out the hole in 2 years... can you survive on £50 a month? bear in mind i live with parents so dont have to pay for food only for work and i try and take packed lunches.
Iv been trying for ages to get a part time job but its just not happening!!
Also im disputing bank charges from TSB expect actually silly amounts around £3k for that, but not holding my breath, the financial ombudsman is now dealing!
Furthermore, iv got a hol to pay for by the 1st feb and im selling stuff like mad on ebay to pay for it! fingers crossed!!0 -
Hi there,
I definitely recommend the eBay thing- and Amazon too. Every time you get a couple of pounds for something it all mounts up. So you have to find £185 in the next 2 weeks then? Definitely eBay- nothing else will pay up on time. Sell anything that's not nailed down, any clothes you haven't worn for over a year, books & CDs... good luck!Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24
currently: £13,353.25DFW Nerd 178Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
Looking at things like cutting down phone bills and shopping bills as that can certainly save a few quid.:beer:0

an SOA is as follows
a. your income
b. a detailed list of your spending (excluding debt repayments)
c. a total of your spending as above
d. now you know how much you have to pay your debts
i.e. income minus spending
e. a list of all debts that is
debt amount , minimum monthly payments and APR
f. a total of the debts and a total of the minimum monthly debt payments
with these figures you can be advised about ways to reduce you spending and also allows you to see the overall finacial situation.
if you wish you can post as above0
