Cap Quest?? 02084958734?

Options
I had a missed call from this number on my phone this afternoon and upon some digging and came up that it is from capquest.

Does anyone know who they are or are they a scam as I have read elsewhere?

I do have depts but currently pay all of them and the ones who are with collection agencies are Apex and Lowell. The others are Lloyds and Santander who have also accepted payments directly and have advised they won't contact by phone or post until April 2012.

Please move if this is in the wrong place.

    Hi

if it is capquest then chances are one your debts has been sold on or they have been appointed to act for debt collection (could have been one that is already with apex or lowell that has been sold on again).

Wait for them to write to you.

Apex and Lowell have been very good and late letters from them was to accept £1 a month and will contact me to check my circs again, Apex used to do this 3 monthly.

Lloyds and Santander accepted too so could they sell the debt after accepting my payments? I can't see why they would buy a debt knowing all they will get is £1 a month.

I have heard that capquest call random numbers chasing peoples debts and often lie claiming they have a package to deliver?

I believe they used to use those sort of tactics to try to trace people whose debts they owned (or were trying to collect), supposedly they don't anymore after the OFT cracked down on them.

It could also possibly be that its someone else's debt with the same name as you. I would just wait and see if they write to you and then you can tackle it from there.

You're right all I can do is wait, although I don't think I have anything to worry about as I know there are plenty of helpful tools on here :)
