Unable to attend a work placement interview and really worried, help me?

A work placement interview was arranged between a woman that deals with the work placement side of things at the job centre and myself yesterday, I mentioned at the time that my mother was due to go into hospital and under a general anaesthetic and I wasn't sure how long that was going to take. (The interview isn't at the job centre, it's at the actual place of work which is in the middle of nowhere.) I'm not going to be able to attend the interview now or be able to get back in time due to my mother going in late and she needs someone to be here for when she wakes up, I can't leave her. The woman I spoke to yesterday isn't there today, so what do I do? Do I ring the job centre and explain why I can't attend? I'm afraid I'll lose my money for some reason, I'm under so much stress right now, I'd appreciate some advice on what to do please.

Hi
Just ring the job centre, explain why you can't make the meeting and see if you can rebook.Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -
I can't rebook though I don't think, the placement is due to start on Tuesday 30th, it was a kind of last minute arrangement due to me not getting a placement I originally went for.0

You still have to call and see. You can't do anything else but tell them. Give it a try.0

I suppose they can't really say anything if I have a valid reason for not being able to make it.0

If you are lucky apologetic and enthusiastic about the placement they may be able to defer it for a day.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
I was told that the employer only wanted to interview three people as the placement is for two weeks only.0
