Where do you work that you need to be so choosy over the font?
You might not like mine then lol, although its only my name at the top that's an 'interesting' style... I did think some of it was below 10pt, but the majority is 11.5.
Any serious organisation will have a style guide to ensure a corporate look and to make it easier for people with visual impairments to read - so Times New Roman, Arial, Tahoma etc.

As most of us don't work in the land of Legally Blonde, crazy or 'interesting' fonts would not be included as they tend to suggest someone not used to drafting business correspondence and would count against you in a lot of places, unless 'interesting' was part of the job description.

Keep the font plain, nothing under size 10 - although I would tend to personally think size 12 and not under 11.

    Good luck

I know this is an old thread now but I thought I would just update it.

I started this thread on 25/8/11 and it has taken me roughly 3 and a half months and I have now got my Level 2 (City and Guilds Qualification) in English which is equivalent to a GCSE. I am starting Maths next week, I have almost completed my ECDL course and I can say today that after 3 interviews with different companies and applying to I don't know how many companies I have successfully got myself a job. :D

I am ecstatic!! I thought I would be job hunting for at least 12 months. It just shows that sheer hard work and determination can get you anywhere and to believe in yourself. It has been really difficult and the first 2 knockbacks I had were really hard to swallow but I got there. To all that are out there and looking for work, keep at it!! If I can get myself a job then anyone can.

Thanks to all the advise and positive comments I got in August they really helped spur me on.

    Wooo :D

Just read your thread, Babymoo - fantastic, well done!

I am also a true believer in effort and persistence and clearly it's paid off for you. What's the job? Is it in admin?

Not in admin no, but I am hoping it will head that way. It is just till work at the moment at B&Q but I am more than happy with that. It's a start and a head in the right direction :D

    Thank you Kiki x

It's money, it pays the bills, it gives you experience, and it's in a company that's big enough for prospects if you want to move up - what more do you need?!

    Well done again. :)
