I am not sure if this is classed as a Grabbit because they were this price last year but they are cheap, however, I got my daughter the other brand - never again - back to Emu's for them now. The Bronte are much sturdier than stingers. I bought my daughter real Ugg Australia boots last year and after a day in the snow they were ruined - they wear the Bronte in the rain and the snow and with some protector spray I'll get an entire winter season out of them. They are my kids boots of choice now.

http://www.natureshop.co.uk/Catalog/NaturalKids/kids-emu-boots.asp

They have High Stingers for £45, High Hip Button for £35, High Bronte for £29 and Lo Bronte for £27. Some of the sizes are limited. They do have adults Emu boots too.

Some of them are sent from NZ and some from the UK (they seem to have a warehouse here and also there from what I can make out as the styles in stock in the UK seem a bit random). They definately had them for this price last year so worth keeping an eye on even if they are out of stock today.

I've googled and can find nothing bad and nothing on their FB page either although I have not used them before. I ordered this morning and one pair from the UK has been sent already.

One thing, double check you order the right sizes, I ordered the US sizes by mistake so had to email them but they got back to me within the hour and told me they would send the right sizes.

They do have adults too. I will confirm when mine arrive.

Kickers from the offer 2 weeks back are now bieng returned. :rotfl:

I just wanted to update and let you know that I got one of the pairs of boots today - the ones that were noted as being in the UK. Even my 8yo DD said 'that was quick, you only ordered them yesterday!!'.

The other pair have been shipped from NZ today as well.

I mucked up on the sizes so emailed them and not a problem, they changed the sizes for me. DD is well impressed with her winter boots. We have needed them today!! What fantastic service.
  • I always buy my daughter proper fitted shoes/boots from Start Rite, I paid £50 for a pair last year that shes worn only a number of times last Winter as I wouldnt let her go in the snow in them, so am thinking of buying 'not proffessionally fitted" boots that she can wear all the times, shes also getting more into fashion so likes this short of boot to wear with her jeans even when the weather isn't bad etc.

As she is still growing (5 years old) how long do you think these boots will last for and are the sizes generous, her feet are quite broad so would they kind of mould with her foot?

Sorry for going on a bit, but it would nice if you could help please

No worries, my kids have been earing Emu boots for 5 years now and my eldest is 8 - I was too tight to buy them real sheepskin initially and went for these but they lasted so well I went for more the year after.

While they are not professionally fitted, they are loose around the foot so your daugters foot being broad should not be a problem. They do stretch and mould yes, the more snug they are, the warmer her feet will be. Mine never wear socks with them (even in the snow) as the wool wicks moisture away, and with these boots the heel is reinforced so they do not give. When you walk around town and see all those young girls walking on the side of their boot, it makes me shudder - this is a BIG no no as far as I am concerned. Before I bought my UA boots I bought some cheapies and within 2 weeks I had ankle pain so there is no way I would inflict this on my kids. Emu boots have a reinforced heel so they do not give. Mine will will in theirs now until April/May time. They are worn with anything (leggings, trousers, dresses, skirts) and always look fine and they can just slip them on and off, it is much easier getting out the door. :D

You must, must, must spray them with a water repellent a couple of times when you get them and then halfway through the winter. But my kids will live in these boots and they will last. If they do not then contact the manufacturer because I've only had one pair where the sole came loose but as it was in May and they were going in the bin, I just chucked them. Mine are in half sizes and I go back down a size as snug is better than loose - so DD is a 13.5 and she is in a 13. They are meant to be worn quite snug (but not so the toe comes through the boot there should be some room a the front still).

This company have free returns so why not get some and give them a try? I paid £44 the year before last so I am really pleased with paying £29. I could not even get Clarks books for this price. I've tried looking for a promo code but did not find anything.

Obviously if there is deep puddles and very heavy rain, put them in wellies they are not waterproof, but mine wear them in the snow and they get stuck on the radiator to dry when I get home, to dry off.

The Bronte are cow skin with merino wool inside and are so much more hard wearing, the stingers are sheepskin and are soft so they get ruined much easier so for little ones, I've always gone for the Bronte.

Go for the chocolate - it hides a multitude of sins including water marks. :D

Mine have Clarkes shoes for school which are fitted - they are not in the boots that much to be fair so do not worry about her little feet getting damaged, my kids have always been fine in theirs and they have fitted shoes for the majority of the time.

I hope this helps (I went on as wel, didn't I, sorry)

Thank you so very much for all this info, its really helpful and very kind of you to post so much detail, you've made my mind for me so I am happy now to buy them :) She goes to school in wellies in bad weather and has to change into her school shoes there so I just thought it was stupid paying £50 for another pair of Start Rite when these would be much easier to wear and she would wear them more often and the fact that she would love them, kind of a fashion boot and at this price I can get two pairs for what I would pay in Start Rite, so again, thanks very much for all the effort you wrote to help me
