Thanks for letting me know Pooky :j I know how hard it can be to price handmade stuff - people have asked me to make them something, and charge them, but you don't want to charge for all the work that goes into something as it would make it so expensive! So, like you, if I can cover at least some of my costs I'm happy as I enjoy making the things :D (at least it keeps me away from the biscuit tin - sometimes :p )

Hi Squishy, Like I said previous, I too sell cards, depends on the size, materials used, etc, my prices range from 80p - £1.50 also, Like Pooky, depends who you are making it for, if they are requests, then most likely you'll have to buy the item/materials in. I too do it for a hobby.

I remember doing a batch of Disney cards, and before I brought my decoupage cd's, I searched the net for various pictures, printed a few off, used a clear embossing ink pad, sprinkled with clear embossing powder and used to the heat gun to make the glaze. Cut them to how I want to see them stand out (3-d effect), the results was amazing.

We love craft in my house, DD & DS (he's 10) also have a go. It keeps them busy, away from the tv. Nice to do something creative as a family.

Ive been in my new job nearly 3months now, and Ive yet to pluck up courage to take my cards in. Had no problems shifting them at my old place. At the moment I just rely on the family for sales.

    Beautifull cards MATH

Ive recently made a batch of cards, made out ribbons and jewels out of Christmas Crackers. Very elegant colours, purple's, gold, etc. Made 4 very lovely birthday, anniversary, engagement & Valentine cards with them

The world is your oyster when it comes to craft, save anything whch you might think can be used. Add some imagination - & bingo!

    Hi

I sell my cards for £1 or £1.50 for decoupage or iris folded cards at work. I've only sold a few. When I make cards for other people they are very impressed. I too spend way too much money on crafting stuff.

I wanted to post this quick tip. If you use peel-offs, you can use permanent OHP markers to colour them in.

In WHSmith's january sales they were selling 6 coloured permanent OHP marker pens for £1.24, usual price £4.99. The colours are black, red, orange, green. blue and purple. I remember them being the same price in the last WHSmith sale - I accidently baught the non-permanant which are no good. I wouldn't be surprised if they were marked down in the next sale they have. Craft shops can charge around £10 to £15 for peel-off markers do I consider this a great bargain.

Also check out the Range chain of stores for some crafting bargains - they are usually a few pounds cheaper than a carft shop or hobbycraft. You can find out their nearest store on https://www.therange.co.uk. Check out poundland - they do some nice stuff aswell for toppers.
