Do you know if the consumer confidence survey was done during the riots?
I should imagine rioter consumer confidence was up during the riots but down after incarceration.
In contrast the scared of having a shower index has taken a big leap up. :)

But in all seriousness it was July, so no. But there was a lot of company's going in to administration at the end of june due to the rent 1/4 date.
Not sure if the riots or companys closing have the biggest effect on confidence?

Consumer confidence has slipped to 49 from 51 but was forecast to be 46.

Still well below its average of 79

To be honest he isn't saying much on the other forum, I wonder how he is now spending his waking hours

It's a shame the 'Scottish' topic was pulled.

We have no historical record of his last few words of wisdom on MSE.
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.

I think that's about the saddest post I've ever read on this obsession.

You must be sorry he's gone. He agreed with you sometimes.

I guess it could be argued you're just a politer version of him. ;)

If I remember correctly his final post was along the lines of "Reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated" followed by a cascade of laughing smileys.

To use another well known quote (this time from Bob Monkhouse):

"They laughed when I said I was going to be a comedian, they're not laughing now".

I think the message on the internet is that if you make a prediction or seem self satisfied with a bit of news then you should be prepared to have it brought up if it is found wanting.

@Really2: I think posts #14-20 should answer your original question.

Apparently this forum is now a HPC soap opera discussion.
