Pearls for a Pearl

Pearl Wedding Anniversary is coming up. The required present is obvious (clue: a pearl necklace) but where to get one?
New or antique? Specialist or high street jeweller? Risk it online (I'd prefer to see and touch what I'm buying)?
Hints or suggestions from pearlologists welcomed!

Look in Pawn Brokers, cash converters or similar . I got necklace from one of these. They are much cheaper and you should get a good deal. Do remember to ask what his best price is.
Hope this helps.0 -
Thanks Castleton - hadn't thought of that.0

There's a specialist pearl jewellary shop in the birmingham jewellary quarter (if you're close enough). You can then choose the pearls/size/colour/price exactly to your specification - personal and much more affordable than the high street!0

To tell if a pearl is real, rub it lightly against your tooth, if it feels rough....it´s real
