We rent our house thru an estate agent, i had to send the or a copy of the tenancy agreement.....But 2day i had a phonecall from tehm saying theyve been sent a form to fill in & return, what will this be for??
And will this affect our tenancy? (none of br debts were related to this house & we have no arrears here)
Thanks in advance!

Maybe the OR wants confirmation of the rent0

My OR just wanted confirmation of the type of tenancy. I think there are some tenancy agreements around that give the tenant some sort of interest in the property. Presumably they also want confirmation you're not in arrears.
I spoke to my landlord in advance about going BR and to forewarn him he may receive a letter and he was fine about it all, just wanted to know his rent was still going to get paid. My OR didn't write in the end as they had the copy tenancy agreement for all the information they required. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

The or has a copy of my tenancy agreement & rent amount & also bank statements which show the rent being paid each month...i was a bit miffed as or never told me they were going to contact them...if they had i would have got in touch myself prior & discussed it!
But its done now....estate agent seemed ok bout it....said they are happy as we are not in any arrears (never have been with rent) x x x0 -
Ahh but, how do they know you are telling the truth and have not forged the documents, that is why they check with the third party directlyHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

I understand people to commit fraud but they have copies of everything including bank statement (not sure they could be fake??)
But it wasnt the fact theyve contacted them....i understand they can do what they like i just thought we would have informed they were going to do this so we could have pre-warned the agents!
I dont think its going to make a difference cos the agents seemed ok bout it x x0 -
My OR never warned us that they were going to contact our LL, thankfully I had already given them the heads up about my impending BR. There was no clause about BR in my tenancy agreement either.:pB&SC No. 298
