Hi i have just checked and see the tax code on my pay slip is the same as emg code .
eed to know who to ask and how to see if am due a refund on tax as on paye and have with my company for 6 years ?
As not sure how as this was brought up by other work asst

That is the normal code that most people are on. Unless you have anything that would cause you to pay less tax eg wash your own uniform, or more tax eg taxable benefit given by your employer, then your tax will be correct.
I assume that you have seen that the emergency code is 747L and assume that because of this you are paying extra tax. In fact the emergency code is not designed to take extra tax, it is meant to get as close to the correct tax on a week by week or month by month basis as possible. To do this the same code is used that everyone starts off with.0 -
Emergency tax code is BR where they tax everything at 20%.
With 747L you are only paying tax on earning over £622 per month (or £7470 in a year)0 -

no, BR is not in general an emergency code; it is the code that is used for a second job where the person has two jobs at the same time0
