Daily contact lenses

Options
Hi - I am currently using Johnson Acuvue moist daily contacts - I like them as they are very comfortable but very expensive - the cheapest I can find them for is £85 for 90 pairs but when looking I saw that Asda do an own brand daily contact lens for half that price...I wondered if anyone had tried them and could tell me what they thought of them

I used asdas once, they were okay but by far the best i've found is daysoft ones, they ask you what contact lenses you usually use and I presume make them the same, they come in little blister pack type things and for two boxes (i have diff strength in each eye) they delvier them for £9.98 for both. I saw an advert for them in a Ryanair mag so was a but sceptical at first but for the sake of saving £15 a month on my usual ones it was well worth the try. I swear by them now but I don't wear them every day so maybe factor that in to your decision.

They don't actually make them the same-they just say their lenses are the equivalent of every other lens. I use them, and have found them great previously-they deliver quickly etc. However-you should have them fitted by a professional, and I have found them lax in checking up to date prescriptions. My contact lens practitioner told me they were breaking the law by prescribing them when my prescription said focus dailies (he might have been trying to frighten me, I know in vet medicine if a script has a brand on it, you cannot prescribe a generic, but now my prescription says Daysoft)

I do worry they aren't as good quality as they used to be, or my tolerance is decreasing, as I find my eyes are getting drier (they seem stiffer/drier even when I take them out of the packet)

OP I would say if you are using acuvue moist-the daysoft are not an equivalent lens. Ask your optician :) I think I am going to have to try more pricey ones again (which is a shame-but my eyes will thank me!)
