Newbies desperately after wedding plan help/advice in Blackpool!!!

Hi Everyone
The reason for the post it that me and my beautiful fianc!e are wanting to get married next year hopefully in September!
Unfortunately due to me being made redundant, my partner being at college and us having a 2yr old to look after then you can imagine our budget is very small, maybe about £2500 to £3000.
So I am asking any of you guys for any advice or help that you think will make a wedding on this kinda budget possible.
Also any advice you could give on what type of questions we should be asking or what type of things we should be looking for would also be very helpful.
I am particular after hearing off anyone who lives in Blackpool or nearby and knows of any good cheap wedding packages that are currently being offered by any hotels and venues.
We have been to the Savoy hotel who are offering a package for £1500 that includes a 3 course wedding breakfast for 50 guests and a 7 piece buffet for 100 guests for the evening reception but this deal doesn't include the DJ, table decorations and things like flowers and wine.
Does this sound like a good deal? or does anyone know of better offers currently available?
Also my partner has been looking at wedding dresses on ebay from hong kong that are replicas of designer dresses but are less then £100, does anyone have any more info on these? or know people who have bought them? our plan is to buy one for like £100 and then get it altered over here.
And lastly my partner isn't christen but I am CoE, will this effect getting married at a church? and can anyone give any info/advice on if you have to pay for churches? as I have heard some people say you can just make a donation of about £100 and others say that you have to pay £360 for a church?
Sorry for such a looooonnnnng post but we are a young couple and I am wanting to make it the best day I can for my partner on the small budget we have!
Thank you all

We live in Blackpool and got married here last September, the day the lights were turned on.
We had our ceremony at the Town Hall - not cheap but stunningly beautiful. Look on the Council website.
Then we hired a vintage tram to take everyone to the reception venue. Look on the Blackpool Transport website for info on this.
Our reception was at the Imperial, in the Louis suite, it's a beautiful room with an attached bar. We had the "Wrapped Up" package which included a photographer, DJ, evening buffet, wedding breakfast, Bucks Fizz reception, room hire (for all day if you want to marry there), suite for the bride & groom. They are doing this again for £2,700 (advert in the Gazette the other day). They were always very nice & helpful, they were really good at writing everything down, and gave us a free tasting for the meal choices!
If you choose that room they have candelabra on the table, so you don't need a lot of table centres - we just had table confetti in the colours, didn't bother with chair covers, they did the table plan / menus / place cards so none of that hassle either!
There are several wedding fairs coming up - the one at the Imperial is on 4th September (I think it's a couple of quid to get in, but we found everyone there - florist, cake, booked the venue, spoke to the Registrar, saw the suit hire people & the place I bought my tiara!).
Let me know if you want more details - cake, florist, prices, even photos.0 -
Hi we r getting married in the cliffs and having our reception at the cliffs to. we did not want the usual sit down meal so instead opted for a hot carved buffet which included 3 drinks for each guest (drink on arrival drink for toast and drink with food) balloons for table posies ect at £17.15 ph we are then bringing out the bacon and sausage butties at night which are 3.50ph we r having same guest all day so this was the cheapest option for us not everyone’s cup of tea.0

I know there are a few hotels along the prom which are doing different packages, there was one which stood out (but can't remember it's name) which was a wedding package for 2012 for £2012... Think it was past the north pier, before the Hilton, looked pretty nice too but can't recall what the package gave you... If I see it again, I'll try and write down the hotel's name for you

I'd have a look at sample sales, usual places like Dan Kerr (one in Preston and Blackpool I think) have sales on, there last one was for dresses from £200. Some people have had problems with dresses from Hong Kong, I think someone posted about the various websites which sell counterfeit dresses.
There's also a lovely woman up near the town centre, I think it's called A Stitch in Time, you don't need an appointment and she's incredibly helpful (the only reason I didn't buy my dress from there was cos dress fittings would've been a nightmare - my parents live in B'pool and I'm in B'ham.) I think her dresses were quite reasonable.
Hope this helps a bit.
Oh and I know of a lovely cake woman, I could pm you her details if you'd like (very reasonable prices.)❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

Hi thanks for the reply
Could I ask how much the town hall wedding was? I think churches are around the £360 mark.
I would love to have the imperial but £2700 would take all our budget, ideally we need to spend upto £1500 on the breakfast and reception and the other £1500 on the ceremony, flowers, cake etc
Also any more details would be greatly appreciated! :jxxjojo1986xx wrote: »Hi we r getting married in the cliffs and having our reception at the cliffs to. we did not want the usual sit down meal so instead opted for a hot carved buffet which included 3 drinks for each guest (drink on arrival drink for toast and drink with food) balloons for table posies ect at £17.15 ph we are then bringing out the bacon and sausage butties at night which are 3.50ph we r having same guest all day so this was the cheapest option for us not everyone’s cup of tea.
thanks for the info, I wouldn't mind a hot carved buffet but my partner is wanting a sit down meal and I know the cliffs was quite expensive for a sit down one.0 -

The Town Hall was actually over £500 - fees link for you.
Don't forget things like favours - we had Just Married rock in our colours!
Cake lady is here -
Florist is here
Tiara place was on Church Street, a bit further downfrom Dan Kerrs - they have a bridal shop on Red Bank Road too.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. :T
I live in Blackpool too, but I'm getting married in Warrington so my prices won't match!
There are several wedding fayres (fairs?) coming up I'll keep an eye out on other wedding packages.
Good luck!:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

It's the Norbreck Castle...
Thanks for this floss2...
There's the Parisienne Hotel which offer a wedding for £999 in their Moulin Rouge suite (no idea what this entails)
Tiffany's hotel (it's pink I think) offer a wedding for £1199.
(Both of these hotels are near the roundabout where the merry-go-round horses used to be)
Savoy is £1499.
Unfortunately I didn't see much of the others, but usually the Gazette have a few in.❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

Hi,
im from blackpool. We have booked our wedding in garstang but there are lots of cheap places in blackpool to have a wedding, like someone said the Savoy, The Norbreck and there is another one linked in which all do deals like the £1499 deal, my best friend got married at the savoy last year and it was lovely but even payin the £999 deal they had on then it still cost £10,000!! There is the Ruskin Hotel which do a good deal - Albert Road they are on, not sure what is included, also The carousel which is nearer towards the Pleasure Beach.
With regards to churches - im catholic so i know with catholic churches you have to give a donation, C of E churches charge an amount - like you said in teh region i think of £300+.
If you need a photographer i can recommend one who has just started out who we will be using, he is charging £250 for the whole day - even me getting ready. PM me and ill give you the details. cars - i would ring around taxi firms - i saw one which passed me the other day - i think maybe c cabs (i could be wrong) and see if they do executive cars, they'll prob be a lot cheaper than normal wedding cars - unless of course you know someone with a fancy car - even maybe a neighbour or have a walk around where you live and maybe leave a note on a fancy car and ask if they would maybe chauffer you on your wedding day for a small fee??
If there is anything else i can think of bargains wise ill let you know.0
