... can you still request that they put a freeze on interest and stop adding it if you agree to close the account i.e. not spend on it anymore?
I was thinking about being a bit sneaky and each of my cards, one by one - my smallest first - saying I was going to be in a bit of financial hardship for the next 3-6 months or so and could they temporarily stop adding interest to help alleviate the burden and then in that time temporary time frame of 0%, chuck as much as I could at the cards - the smallest I know I could clear...
Has anybody done this before? Is it worth asking? As I say, I;ve always been an excellent customer with regard to regular payment, usually more than the minimum until recently when we reduced to all to min payments on all but one and upped the minimum on that one to clear it...
I just wondered...

If you have a good credit rating then why not try the 0% cards or low apr for the life of the balance cards then use the snowball calculator to see how best to maximise your payments.0

Haha, I wont bother then.. TBH the more I think about the more I think what I'd effectively be asking for is a DMP, and I don't want anything like that marked on my records, I'll just continue as we are. We've managed to clear both of our Next accounts this month - £175 for my husbands and £350 from mine - will be getting them closed ASAP :]"I once grumbled at having no boots - until I met a man with no feet" Anon

I'd suggest you carry on doing this and one by one the debts will be gone, I think it's the best way, if you've not done so already set up a snowball calculator on https://www.whatsthecost.com it's helped me keep track and plan paying off my cards.Nearly debt free
