Still getting hassled

Hi guys n gals just a quick question

I was made bankrupt on the 6th of July and I am wondering how long it will take for people to stop hassling me for money? I thought once you were bankrupt, that would be the end of it? I know the stress of paying it back has been lifted but its still really anoying to keep getting texts, calls, emails and letters from my creditors demanding money:mad:
I have told them I am bankrupt, even given them my bankruptcy number and which court it was ordered by but they wont take my details of their system.

I had a phone call from the OR telling me they were happy with everything I had told them (& even qualify for early discharge) so i assume that they would have told my creditors my now? Or am I being to impatient? I have been chased for cash for years and was hoping that this would be the end of it but clearly I must be misguided? Is there anything I can tell them to scare them into leaving me alone or should I just ignore them? (this is getting more difficult to do)

Many thanks
Joe

    im having same issues.
my examiner is going to send me a letter to send out, although im annoyed as thats more cost to me.
i lost it big time with one this morning who insisted she was collecting arrears. i do know that it can take up to 8 weeks for creditors to be informed. mine were told on the 29th july and they are still being idiots.

Initially I thought, ooh, your examiner is passing the buck a bit, but then I thought that's actually very proactive of your examiner Mandy. They are so snowed under at the moment that a photocopied letter from the ORs office sent out by you is going to be much quicker. It takes the pressure off the OR so they can get on with their other work and maybe attend to some early discharges! ;)

Bluesbro - please try not to stress about this. Mandy is right that ORs generally have 8 weeks to inform creditors and during this time you can still be chased. However, as they are so busy right now I think I remember a thread recently where some ORs were saying a few weeks longer now to inform creditors.

Anyway, bear with it for two months and then start logging calls/texts so you can send a letter to the OR after a couple of weeks listing them all. Also forward letters to the OR's office to deal with.

In the meantime, once you've logged texts, delete them *and breathe* - shred the letters and put them on the compost - and the phonecalls you can have fun with.

Be safe in the knowledge they cannot do anything to you now.

sounded like a cop out to me. ive got to technically buy 26 stamps and send them all out when theyve already been informed. she said i should get advice from the cab, i thought that was all over now i was br.
sorry op back to your issue, dont let them upset you theres nothing they can do try to just ignore them :)

I thought you meant she was sending you a letter to use on the ones that are hassling you? The OR has already told you she's told them all anyway, no point telling them again.

  • Ha ha ha ha I think i like the sound of having fun with them, although it will be difficult to have fun with Wonga`s automated system, on a serious note though cheers for the replys, I shall give it a few more weeks and then will start taking note of whos calling me.

    Cheers

  • I'm still getting them too, I also went BR 27th June. Like NorthernOne, some of them have even found me at my new address, despite me not telling them.

I am obviously wired a bit differently, I am just putting them straight into the bin. It really doesn't bother me if they want to waste their time sending me letters, and almost hope they do send someone round to "collect what I owe". Sometimes whan I am bored I call them, just to listen to them telling me they will still chase me for the money.

I know thay have been told by my OR and I really don't see it as my problem that their internal systems and processes are that bad they haven't marked it up yet.
