Ok so it seems one company works for the other, so we phoned the parent company of the (the ones who registered the default) and spoke to their compliance department and were told that they received the account in April 2008, yesterday it was November 2009 so again I asked the question if neither Argos or the other company applied a default in December 2007, then how could yourselves if the earliest you had the account was April 2008. We have been instructed to email all the details for them to look into it and asking them to remove this default from our records without the need of the Ombudsman.0

Did you default the account with Argos in Dec 2007 or Dec 2008?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Are you sure that Argos did not issue a default notice in Dec 2007?
When the debt is sold the DCA must enter the default at the same date that Argos originally used - even though that will be before they bought the debt (and argos should at the same time remove their entry and default).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
The DCA we have been paying received the account on 15th November 2007 where we initiated a payment schedule, Argos have no records of this any more they say and the DCA we have been paying says that they did not issue a default? But the Company that did issue the default whom employs the DCA we have been paying says in received the account 17th April 2008. So i'm totally lost with all this but it certainly seems grounds to remove it I hope?0
