Advice for buying lego please. Gdaughter aged 6 is getting this as present from us for Xmas. I want to get some sets that will allow her to build what she wants, not just a build of what is on box cover.(If that makes sense??) I thought maybe a good basic brick set, a girly set and some ebay purchase of base plate, windows etc. £100 to spend, know Lego isn't cheap, so need best haul I can get.
we brought a table from ikea here: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80153800/
added these: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60094072/

ours were red and green.
Then Brought Lego Base plates, ours in Green, Blue and a Grey Road one for Little boy so they can Both play with it. still have to Glue them to the Top but will Look Great. if you have a Sunday Market or Flea Market check around for Lego base plates I got a couple from there for £22016 Jan Wins: 9ct white Gold Diamond Necklace £530.00, Doro Easy phone. Can I ask which of the following you would consider the better box to buy for 2 boys (aged 7 &4)

I've been looking at these too, although cant find either in stores near me. The only difference I've found is that the argos bucket comes in a reusable plastic storage bucket the cube is actually just a cardboard box.0 -
The Lego buckets dropped to £10 in Argos last year. Just checked it was 11 months 2 weeks ago and then again 11 months 1 week ago. (hukd)0

If it was me I would choose the bucket from argos because:
1) cheaper
2)7 more bricks
3)sturdier container
Even better if the price is reduced in the next few weeks.
My only concern is the children may find only 600 bricks between 2 of them frustrating, particularly if they are like my 2 and wish to keep their creations at least for a few days, but it is a good way to start to see if they enjoy Lego (surely everyone does)
If the price drops I'll be picking at least one up for Christmas presents.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I would go with the plastic bucket, it's cheaper and comes with sturdy storage.
We have these in the community centre I volunteer in and they're great for storage, the other box would mean another purchase to store it in.
Like someone else said they may find there's not enough bricks between the two, they might play well with it but might not like having to break it up to build something else.
If you're in not hurry to buy keep an eye on the supermarkets, I got a big box with over 1000 bricks for £24.99 last year in tesco.SPC #329 £471/£500 banked
