My DS is going to get his first box of proper lego this Christmas, the delux box which I believe includes a base plate but I cant seem to find out how big the base plate is - anyone know??
I've found a 38x38 base plate on Amazon today down from £10.50 to £8.99... is that a good price?

or should I get two of the 32x32 for £70 -
or is there any chance the duplo base plate will work with regular lego??
That is a proper grabbit at half price... hopefully in exchange for some expert advice on my q's <pretty please>

No link for this one, but my local TK Maxx (and doubtless others) have the LEGO® Star Wars Character Encyclopedia for £4.99 (£8.49 on Amazon).
It's a really nice Dorling Kindersley book with great pictures, plenty of background information and an exclusive Han Solo minifigure.
Think I'll get myself a copy tomorrow0 -
Kiwimama- regular Lego bases will work with Duplo but I don't think it'll happen the other way round. "Normal" baseplates are 32x32 although there's an extra large grey one which is 48x48.
HTH
Edit: you've found the XL one! 38cm = 48 studs, which is how they're usually described.
I think I'd get two 32x32 for now, although that *is* a good price for a 48...They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
Hi all, don't know if any of your little monsters are into Minecraft but if they are the Lego Minecraft sets are back in stock at the Lego store. My son is bonkers about Minecraft so he'll be chuffed at Xmas (they are selling for £70ish on Amazon and are £35 at lego store online).0

Can anyone point me in the direction of the website that tells you current UK lego offers, amazon price and lego shop price etc? Thanks.0

personally I am a fan of http://www.brickset.com/ on their front page they have links to amazon, argos, smyths discounted lego as well as the database for all lego sets
also useful is http://www.bricklink.com/ which can give you a guide to the price of old and current sets as well as indivdual parts etc as well as a second hand market for lego too
reason I like the first link for brickset is it offers lots of linky linkys for other sites as well to find the lego I'm after, as well as letting me know about new stuff coming up, bits on ebay etc etc - good all round stuff and easy to navigate too
oh and here of coursefinding out about other bits gets missed a bit by the bots, and us humans can spot and post the 3 for 2 deals etc, some of the best deals found right here
