Not much choice on the cat food, I tend to use mysupermarket and keep checking out the best offers. if your cat will eat whiskas, there is a 3 for 2 on some flavours at the moment in Tesco, that works out around £2.30 a box of 12. HTH

Thanks for all the suggestions :)

I've just looked at the rosspa site, how are they so cheap??? My first instinct is there has to be a catch, lol, what is the quality like, and how long do they take to deliver?!

  • I add tins of beans to loads of meals! Bolognaise gets drained baked beans added to bulk them out for the 5 of us, same with cottage pie. Next year try growing some of your own things like potatoes. Easy to do in tubs. We also try to eat veggie a few nights per week as eating meat every night is expensive. I do things like pasta in a tomato sauce with some grated cheese and garlic bread. Soups are cheap and filling too. I also find buying a big chicken and using various bits for other meals like roast one night, chicken fried rice or curry then you can use the carcas for soup stock.

I buy a lot of sainsburys basics things like biscuits, diluting juice, fruit and veg, fromage frais etc are all decent quality and cheap.

You can pick your date for delivery :)

I had my first order last week and I was very impressed with them so much so I've another order due tomorrow, this time I've added meat to it. I'm trying to stock up now incase we have another bad winter.

There is a tread about Rosspa I'll go and find it.

How long delivery takes is up to you as you choose the delivery date yourself it can be next day or up to 6 weeks later however prices of fruit & veg fluctuate daily according to what deals they get with their suppliers so the longer the gap you leave between ordering & delivery the more chance there is of prices going up or down on some items, if that does happen they will contact you to see if you still want the items at the new price.
You may want to read through the rosspa thread before ordering to see what people think about them.

There are also several short dated food sites which can offer significant savings.

Quorn mince is regularly on offer & can be used to substitute some or all of the mince in a bolognese usually at a much lower price.
