So......been with gregory pennington for about 2 years.....they seem to be messing up my payments (every 3 months ish) I'm now paying over £40.00 a month for their service, which was good for the first 2 months!!! I'm paying £115 a month and less than 2 thirds of it is going on my debts. I'm really scared about changing over to other companies, due the amount of hassle i had at the start with Gregory Pennington. I can't afford to ring around trying to sort it all out.
I don't know what to do.
Can anyone give me any advice as really need it right now!!!

Hi and welcome
Switch to one of the debt charities who will run a DMP for you for free. Suggest you probably contact CCCS, I thiink you'll find their service far better than GPs, not to mention that you'll be paying an extra £40 towards your debts each month and so clear them much quicker. You can start by contacting CCCS onlime which saves phone calls.
IMPORTANT - Where to seek professional impartial advice about your debts.
You'll need to write to GP to give notice you want to cancel your DMP with them.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Just a little word of warning - I know I may get shot down in flames for this but if your debt level is under a certain amount then the non-fee paying companies wont touch you - CCCS, Payplan and National Debtline all said no to me as I didnt have enough debt. Best to try and speak to someone like CAB, they might be able to help.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

This is correct - to qualify for CCCS and similar to run a DMP for you then you usually have to have more than £5k of debt, at least 3 different debts and be able to afford £100 a month.
However if they cannot manage a DMP for you, they will help by providing advice and templates for you to be able to do a self-managed DMP.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Please use a debt charity or Payplan, that way all your money goes to the the creditors, not just two thirds because you no longet pay fees to GP.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

I am a newbie here. I owe 18k and spoke to an advisor at Payplan yesterday. They are tring to set me up a DMP. I have always just managed to pay my monthly payments by doing overtime at work but that has now stopped so I know I cant meet payments. My worry is that I will now start getting the phone calls from my creditors. How do I deal with these? Will they stop when the DMP is set up? I am so worried about it, I cant sleep.0

Hi lynda
You many get a few phone calls to start, just give them your payplan reference number and refuse to enter into a discussion with them. If they ask for more money just say everything is being dealt with through Payplan.
If any of your creditors keep ringing you and won't stop then there is a template letter you can send to stop the phonecalls and to request all further communicatino is in writing.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Anyway, I have asked GP for an up to date balance from my 4 creditors, so I can give accurate figures to CCCS. Have you any idea how much notice GP will want before I can switch?
pkdreilly & lynda231 - I hope you get your DMP's sorted ok

Same happened to me ! but once my DMP was accepted no more calls.
Now completed 71 months of the 84 month DMP with Payplan & no problems - I would recommend them to you.I am a newbie here. I owe 18k and spoke to an advisor at Payplan yesterday. Its 2 weeks written notice with GP (well it is according to their online FAQs).
You might want to check your balances with your creditors direct - as GP may be assuming they are not adding on any interest & charges and some could still be.

They will try and swindle another month or more in fee's to cancel there service, best bet is to wait untill you have paid a months fee and know that your creditors are paid then simply cancel the dd or standing order to save them robbing you.0
