Get somewhere cheaper or stay where I am?

Currently I am living with my best friend. He charges £360 a month which includes (council tax, water, tv license, some heating and some food). He has been pretty supportive and awesome in my life. However I am only getting a shared housing benefit rate (also am having £20 a month taken off for an overpayment which I am contesting) which means I can only afford half of the rent. I am having to pay the rest out of my other benefits.

I have been looking into a shared room, but it seems that I cant get anywhere due to being on housing benefit. Should I stay where I am?

I posted it here as I am trying to pay off all my debts.
