HELP!!
As Chief Bridesmaid I'm arranging my friends hen weekend - which starts 8 weeks on Friday.
So far I've arranged a meet & greet at mine on the Friday night (the Bride now lives in England and is travelling up to Scotland with a few of her English friends) involving copious amounts of cider and curry. For the Sunday we're relaxing (and recouperating!) during the day then going out for a carvery meal at night.
The problem is the main part of the henny - the Saturday.
Originally I had planned for us to go bowling and Zapp Zoning during the day, followed by a meal, then bingo then the Casino to end the night. However, the bowling near us has closed down so that removes a large chunk of my day and I'm stumped for what to do now.
There will be between 15 & 20 of us and we're not looking to spend too much money due to none of us actually having that much money! lol
Any suggestions will be gratefully received

How about having an afternoon tea at your house? Teas, little sandwiches, scones & Cakes? Its lovely (its what i had!) and doesnt cost alot to do.
If you want something more adventurous then do you have go karting nearby or any outdoor activity centres?

I second the afternoon tea suggestion, a friend of mine had food, drinks and a load of games set up which really made us laugh.
The games she had were things like pin the doodah on the man, mr & mrs questions (the organiser had already asked her H2B questions and she had to answer them), a sort of cake bomb game etc etc, we had a really fun time and although I didn't know anyone else there these did break the ice.0 -
We started mine off in my mums playing silly games to, we had dares in balloons so no one could see what they were getting u had to pop the balloon to get ur dare. Sex Bingo, bingo cards from poundland and some marker pens, rules are when ur down to one number u must shout "im coming" instead of shouting bingo u shout Ive came, but you cant win if u didnt shout out when downt o one number, we put it down to coming too soon lol. We also got the girls into 4 groups and gave them toilet rolls, white bin bags, glitter etc and gave them 10 mins to make a wedding dress. So much fun and a bit messy, but got everyone talking to each other and started off the day really wellGot Married 16/09/11 :j0

I had afternoon tea too! Wine and cake is ALWAYS a good combination! My bridesmaid had asked my OH some questions and filmed his responses - it was great watching him explain his answers and be all sweet and funny! Then for the second half on the Mr & Mrs, they did the one where you hold a panel up (pink for me and blue for him) - questions such as "who's the smartest?", "who's the funniest?". One of the girls wore a mask which was a printed pic of OH's face, and she held up his responses. It was brilliant! Some controversial answers there which i still go on about a month later (I am definitely the smartest and the funniest - how dare he?!)Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93

Thanks for the suggestions

I used to be an Ann Summers rep so have plenty of games ideas up my sleeve. While the afternoon tea idea is nice we really want to be out and doing something. There's going to be between 15 & 20 of us so something in house isn't really going to work as my living room just isn't big enough lol
There's a place near me that does go-karting and bowling. I called them to see if we can book it out but they don't book it out on a Saturday and as it's a childrens venue it's not really appropriate for us to be there in all our henny styled glory! (and it's 20 odd miles away from my house (which is local when you live in the sticks lol) so we can't go and get changed after it).
I'm very grateful for the above suggestions but if anyone has anymore I'd really appreciate it

Hi,
Is there any local beauty salons which do block party events where you could all go & have your nails done or a local hotel where you can pay to use the pool & spa facilities.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.

Hi Scottish Lass - I see your in Alyth, so I'm guessing it's Dundee you're planning bowling/bingo etc?
if so how about ice skating? or if you want to go down the pamper route, Piperdam do Spa Days.
Or, my personal favourite would be this!: http://tankdrivingscotland.com/stag-and-hen/
:D
(ps is it the megabowl in Dundee that has shut down?)
hope you get something sorted!
ETA: Sorry just seen your on a budget, that might rule out the tank driving.0 -

Thanks for the suggestions, I looked into cocktail lessons but the cheapest I could find was £30 per person which I (having been to one before) just don't think is worth it.bride2be2012 wrote: »Hi Scottish Lass - I see your in Alyth, so I'm guessing it's Dundee you're planning bowling/bingo etc?

Yes, looking at Dundee, it's the easiest place for us to get too. Unfortunately the bride is highly allergic to all lotions, potions, perfumes, chlorine etc otherwise Piperdam (or a spa day of some sort) would have been perfect.
Yeah, Megabowl have shut down. Shame as they offered a fantastic package for adult groups
Tank driving was one of the first things I looked at but the price is mental lol
Because it's October I don't want to plan anything outside because if it gets rained off (and lets face it, in Scotland there's a bloomin' good chance it would lol) then we'd be stuck with nothing to do at the very last minute.
I know I'm limiting myself with all these ideals but I just want it to be a great day for her and all the people who are coming from so far for it.
