Beware Great Supermarket Offers

It is really frustrating that supermarkets are promoting offers that 'save you money' - when they actually cost you more - and those people who could probably benefit most from the saving are assuming that the supermarket is on their side...

The following is a current example from Tescos - mini chicken fillets 362g for £4 - or buy 3 for £10 or 4 for £12 - saving you £2 and £4 respectively. However in the poultry section you get mini chicken fillets 377g for £3. So more product for less money without an offer!

All the supermarkets are doing it and when I ask the store staff to explain, the answer is "they have no control over pricing" which is determined by head office and are not prepared to take it up themselves!

ALWAYS check the offers promoted by looking at the product in it's normal position in the supermarket to make sure you are getting a good deal. Complain to the manager and your friends - don't let them get away with it.

Have you seen an example recently of a "great deal" that is cheaper without the deal? 7 votes
