Debt Free at Last!

Options
Hi,

After six long years I have finally become debt free thanks to the CCCS and the support of this forum. Just popping on for a browse around every day would help me to understand that I wan't the only one and there was indeed light at the end of the tunnel. It is always heartwarming and encouraging to read when people become debt free or just received that brilliant piece of advice from the forum that would make them feel a lot better. I have learned so much from this site and will continue to visit.

At it's worst, I accumulated £33k of debt on cc's, loans and OD's etc. Originally, the DMP was to last about 12 years which seemed like a lifetime but I managed to get a job with vastly better pay and with the refund of nearly 8K of PPI the period of the DMP was drastically reduced. I reclaimed the PPI myself with advice from this site. I'm so glad I had my LBM, bit the bullet and contacted the CCCS in 2005 when I was truely at rock bottom. CCCS are brilliant and I could not have done it without their help!

So, good luck to all of you on the long road ahead, I wish you well.

Cheers,

Womble.

  • Congratulations :)

I will be totally debt free next October and next October is when Brighouse is totally paid off thank god.

They keep phoning me to take out new agreements with £40 off my next order then get annoyed when I don't speak.

It will be so nice not having debtors knocking on the door anymore but well done :)

Hi Grantus86, I'm going to continue to put away 50% of the amount I paid into my DMP as we need new wimdows desperately, also my wife deserves a big big holiday for supporting me through all of this...she's a diamond!!

    Cheers.
