Hello, I have an event booking for a brilliant price on the 29th of October (this year) and we can’t use it so am looking for someone to take over it. It could be a wedding, special birthday, company event etc
The price we were given was £35 per person it included, 3 course meal (or 2 course cheaper option for kids), live entertainment (choice of acts, we chose 80 tributes but there are things like Dirty Dancing and Abba to choose from), chair covers with bows (there were a few colours to pick from including black and white) and a discount for group bookings on hotel rooms.
It was booked for a charity ball but due to poor ticket sales we have had to cancel the event, £500 was paid from donations which have to be refunded to people but we are only a tiny charity (it would of been our first ball).
I know its very late notice but I thought I would ask around if anyone is interested as I know events, especially weddings normally cost far more than that without things like entertainment and chair covers. If we find someone who would like to take over our booking then the hotel have agreed to return our deposit. They can cater for up to 300 people and didn’t give us a minimum amount of people.
I’ve not been to the hotel myself but a friend has and said it was lovely and the food was very nice.
As I said its on the 29th of October 2011, its at The Pines Hotel in Preston. This is the website http://www.thepineshotel.co.uk/weddings.html
If you are interested then please let us know on info@postpals.co.uk and the lady we have been speaking to at the hotel is called Jean (the telephone number is on the website).
Thank you,

This is a charity trying to sell on a date they have booked at a hotel, to save them losing a £500 deposit. Really don't see how this is spam at all, sorry.
Best of luck with finding someone Vicki, such a shame you've had to cancel the event.sammy_wheeler wrote: »vicki- you cant advertise on here

Considering the whole point of the forums is to promote MSEness, I must admit I do find it odd that many of the rules prevent that! I can understand them not allowing people to promote businesses but in the case of the OP here this would an absolute godsend toanybody able to take advantage of it. Same as people who want to offload unused/unwanted/finished-with items after their wedding. There is aFB page for this forum but very few people seem to use it - its mostly businesses rather than people saying they're selling stuff on ebay or preloved that others might really want0
