Emotional blackmail and bridesmaids?

Luckily my MOH is my sister and knows her role is to be the brides biatch for the day and do everything I say. The flowergirls are actually going to be that, complete with little wings, frilly founcy dresses and teeny tiny ballet shoes. I could knock up a XXXXXXXL flowergirl dress if they are that desperate but they have a cat in hells chance of having a MOH style dress, that was from fairygothmother.Little Person Number 4 Due March 2012

I've had the opposite of this- one of my bridesmaids [13 y/o cousin] resigned cos she didn't like the dress :rotfl:.. rather than let her mum pick out something THEY liked and have her look different to everyone else, I said I'd prefer her to wear the same as the other BMs or don't do it at all.. so she chose the latter.
Tell the person doing the hinting to shove it. It is your wedding and you should have who you like to support you - regardless. Why does everyone else think they should have a say in your big day. Just explain to them politely that the scheme has been decided, fabric/dresses have been purchased and you are happy with how things are at the moment and do not need any hangers on. Don't feel bad about it, just see the end game!"What day is it?"
"It's today," squeaked Piglet.

I had this when we first got engaged too. Only person on OH's side of the family in the bridal party in his youngest niece, K, who will be flower girl along with my youngest sister. My 2 adult bridesmaids are my other sister and my best friend.
MIL2B (through my OH, she'd never say anything to my directly) always used to ask about all the other nieces (OH has 8 of them!). I just used to tell them the truth: K is the only niece we have regular contact with, and tbh the only one I really know.
Thankfully, since I've bought the dresses I've had no more questions, I think she's realised that there will only be K and that's it!0
