Urggh, my car stinks! Wine leaked in boot. Help??

Took our stash of christmas empties to the bottle bank last week, but during the journey some of the dregs have obviously leaked onto the boot carpet as now the car absolutely reeks of stale booze. Lovely smell first thing of a morning that is, NOT!

My question is how to tackle it to best get rid of the pong.

Can anyone advise?

Hi, I don't know if you've tried bicarb of soda - this is my miracle get rid of any smell solution

I had about a pint of milk leak in the back of my car unnoticed - well unnoticed until the smell of something dying filled the air a few days later, it was completely vile :eek: . I bought a big tub of bicarb from the chemists (can't remember how much it was but was really cheap) and after I'd cleaned the carpet I sprinkled a really thick layer of it in the footwell - and it totally sorted the smell out, brilliant.

Unless anyone has any booze specific solutions I'd deffo give bicarb a go

Thanks for the reply! You say you cleaned the carpet first - what did you use? I'm scared that by wetting it I might just increase the pong - bet it will take ages to dry out too. Bit unsure what to do for the best.
