Used to be able to find this everywhere, now its nowhere!

Ozkleen Carpet Power,

Had some on order from Robert Dyas, bought the last 6 (!) in stock, however the box turned up from Yodel leaking and looked like trained chimp on his stag night had packed it, so back it went, needless to say Zero in stock and the fact they only had 6, rings alarm bells.

John Lewis Out of stock:- http://www.johnlewis.com/231002065/Product.aspx?source=63258

Tesco:- "We used to sell it but haven't had it in for ages"

Asda:- '"Never heard of that mate"

Makro:- "Sorry, we don't stock that here"

Waitrose:- Stock all of the other 'power' range, but not Carpet Power???!!!

Costco, are supposed to stock the trade version in bulk containers, needless to say, and true to form, the local branch have never heard of it

Wilko:- Nothing appearing on their website, and local-ish store have not bothered getting back to me when asked to check

Not exactly brilliant when these are the places which are listed as stockists on OzKleens own UK website, and they either haven't heard of it, or haven't stocked it 'for ages'

Even tried the main distributor in Middleton, but all they suggested were the places on the Ozkleen site.

Anywhere I can buy this from?, ideally online. I need about 6 bottles

Have you thought of using a different brand?

    1001 Troubleshooter Ultra costs £2.50 in Sainsbury's.

The manufacturer's website claims it is safe for use on wool.

There are five positive reviews on the Homebase website although, admittedly, a couple of them look fake.

I actually use it in a slightly different cleaning application than for carpets, and non of the standard carpet cleaners even come close to doing what this stuff does. Nor do the other 'power' range of cleaners which they offer.

I guess their claims of "This product really does work" are pretty much true, not that it matters how good a product is if you can't actually get it.

I'm just a bit concerned that it seems that everybody on the high street and supermarkets actually seem to be dropping it, its not just one or two of the listed outlets who don't have stock, but virtually all of them. Not only does the UK distribution arm of Ozkleen seem to be run by a combination of Rolf Harris and Harold Bishop, but their own website isn't kept up to date, as Tesco's, Asda etc haven't stocked it for some time, and neither do the trade entities like Costco.

I'd happily buy the stuff in 25 litre drums, if it was available, but obviously Ozkleen don't want the UK slice of business, as they can't even get a few domestic bottles on the shelf in the supermarkets.

    But thanks for the information.

  • Saw some in Robert Dyas today - £3.99 per bottle. It really is a great product, isn't it?

Yes its a good product, but unfortunately i'm getting a feeling that its not going to be around much longer, at least not in the UK, as nobody seems in a great hurry to (re)stock it, and it took being passed around to several people when I phoned the distributor / importer of the actual product in Middleton before finding somebody who actually knew what the product was!. It's pretty worrying when the people involved in handling the distribution of an actual product throughout the UK, don't actually recognise the product or brand name!.

It seems like there are just pockets of stock here and there in local stores, probably left over from whatever the Distributor had in their warehouse last time around. My nearest Robert Dyas outlet is in Solihull - 65 miles away, so I rely on their mail order service and main warehouse, and they are showing no stock, pretty much like every other outlet advertised

You could always find it in Wilko's too, here's the original link to the product, but now it appears to be giving a 404 error and has also clearly been removed from their product range, and it doesn't appear during a search of their website either.

So my advice is, if you like the product and still have access to some local stock, buy it all quick, because it seems to be being actively phased out.

What is even more of a joke, is when you contact the places advertised on the Ozkleen website, most of them just try and recommend an alternative product made by a competitor, and so Ozkleen are actively just passing all of their UK business from their own website onto to their competitors.....

  • I have been looking for Ozkleen Carpet Power for ages it was around a few years ago and I loved it then. It really worked and also worked when someone (who shall remain nameless) dropped food on a white top - tomato sauce came out in seconds leaving no marks at all.

I have found it today on John Lewis site and ordered 3. It can be delivered but there is a delivery charge so I went for collecting from a local waitrose store as that was free.

Well done to John Lewis for stocking this amazing product.

    Hope this helps.
  • Hi there,

We are the PR agency of OzKleen cleaning products and just wanted to let you all know about the developments in the stocking of OzKleen and where to buy the products.

OzKleen was out of Tesco for a while but due to popular customer demand, Tesco have decided to re-stock. This has been happening since September and will be back in the majority of stores in the next few months.

Furthermore, we are working on a solution with Amazon to stock our products. This should be live in a month or so but I am afraid I don't have any exact dates for you as yet.

Although we do not have individual store lists, stockists are currently as follows:

    Co-op

    Carpet Power – 2500 stores
    Bath Power 700 stores
    Kitchen Power 700 stores

    Sainsbury

Bath Power 250 stores (the bigger stores which is about half of all Sainsbury)

    Waitrose

    Bath Power 220 stores (all)
    Kitchen Power 100 stores

    Morrisons

Kitchen Power (all stores – 330)

    Robert Dyas

    Bath Power – 100 stores - all
Carpet Power 100 stores - all
    Kitchen Power selected

    Budgens

Bath, Kitchen and Carpet in selected stores

    Wilkinsons

Bath and Carpet in all 300 stores.

    Costco

    Bath Power Pine 22 depots
  • Having got used to Ozkleen stuff - which as they say, does actually work, I was sad to find it gradually disappering from all the shelves. Being cynical, I decided that the importers just weren't buying good enough meals for the supermarket buyers. But maybe that is getting put right, if the message from the PR people can be believed. Of course, if someone up this end could copy the formula, or even make it under licence, then we might even finish up paying slightly less as well. Meanwhile I'll just have to make do with Fairy Liquid.

(I strongly suspicion, by the way, that the only difference between Carpet, Kitchen and Bath Power is the name on the outside of the bottle).
