genius bread is nice, comes as a little loaf which my sainsburys sell as do tesco. My son gets his rolls on prescription and we get the Ener-G ones in both buns and hotdog rolls. I always mircowave these for 20 secs if using normally or chuck them under the grill to do toast.
He also loves the tesco cakes and biscuits. I dont buy gluten free gravy as Bisto Best is listed in the coeliac UK book as acceptable for coeliacs as the gluten content is so low. I also use this instead of stock using oxo cubes if im doing a stew or casserole.
 If you want fast gluten free food, co-op, sainsburys and waitrose sell gluten free fish fingers and I bought gluten free bread crumbs from tesco and make my own chicken nuggets. Also the gluten free pizza bases are very nice.SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £2470.95/£1000 (19) £0/£10000

I like the warburtons gluten free but it is like carpet but toasted is fine, you just have to have toasted sandwiches instead. Gluten makes the food springy and soft so it never going to be as nice as fresh bread. Not tried making own as mine tend to be like rock even with flour!0

I agree with the above, Genius is about the best out there. Sadly it's still not great & is quite pricey I've given up on sandwiches & toast all bread now. It's so difficult to be gluten free on a budget - Value pasta = 20p, cheapest gf pasta £1.50ish. I've given up on sandwiches & toast all bread now. I've tried making my own bread using doves farm gluten free flour, but couldn't get it any better tbh. Gluten free cakes work out fantastically though & friends & family don't even know the difference Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0

Are you diagnosed as Coeliac or wheat intolerant?
If you are you can get prescribed products as Jakes Mum mentioned.
Genius is very nice bread but costs an extortionate amount for what you get and also what they sell in the shops is (in my experience) a lot heavier and drier than that which you get on prescription.
Many of the GF producing companies will send free samples if you request them.
Have you taken a look at the Coeliac site for some info?
For me I like Glutafin Pasta.
Doves Farm spaghetti is great but not availiable on prescirption - they do serve it at Zizzi;s though! :0)
I get Dietary Specials white bread for toasting only.
 Genius brown loaves.
 Glutafin Pasta spirals
 Glutafin spaghetti
 Glutafin pizza bases.
..I guess I like Glutafin! Haha!
It is trial and error though so get some samples ordered! 0 0

I absolutly love making bread in my bread maker (gluten free setting) with the mrs crimbles gluten free bread mix, its on offer in sainsbugs at the moment for £1.49. I normally add sesame seeds to it which makes it really tasty but I just made a cheese and onion loaf with it (using vegan cheese) and it is soooo good :j0

Approved Foods sometimes have gluten free products, well worth keeping an eye on the site! I have had some lovely chocolate/orange cereal bars from them at a very low price, and they were yummy. Good wishes, the cake0

I gave up on gluten free bread years ago. I've been making my own for about seven or eight years now because it's hideously expensive for what you actually get.
I get Juvela White Mix on prescription. It comes with a little packet of yeast and it's incredibly simple to make once you get into a routine.
It's literally: Bung the mix and yeast into a mixing bowl with 3 tblspoons of oil, one (small) pint of quite warm (but not hot) water and a pinch of xanthan gum. It doesn't behave like normal bread and it turns into white goo Seperate it into whatever tins you like. Stick it in the oven on the bread rising setting if you have one for 25 minutes with a splash of water in the bottom to help it rise. Seperate it into whatever tins you like. Stick it in the oven on the bread rising setting if you have one for 25 minutes with a splash of water in the bottom to help it rise.
Then mop the water up and switch to the bread baking setting at 180 degrees for 25 minutes. Swap the tins around and leave in for another 10-25 minutes depending on how crispy you like it.
I end up with gorgeous bread that lasts for up to a week depending on how long I leave it in the oven. Genius bread and everything tastes like cardboard compared to homemade.
The Juvela mix is a blessing. I use it for everything from pancakes to yorkshire puddings and it's never gone wrong yet. Xanthan gum also seems to be a magic wand for gluten free recipies. If your homemade bread isn't working properly, try a pinch of the gum.'til the end of the line0

Try the multi seeded free from bread at tesco - it's their own brand and I have to stop myself eating it as it's for my husband! It is really good toasted.0
