There's only one from belfast to NY and that's the continental one that flies on Mondays and Thursdays, but it is probably the most expensive UK-NY flight! Cheapest option is to go through London, but if you don't fancy this, Aer Lingus fly from Dublin for cheaper than Continental fly from Belfast.

Try expedia for hotels and tripadvisor for reviews before you book!
  • Aer Lingus usually have some good deals from Dublin and Shannon if you are flexible with your dates (i.e. fly mid week rather than at weekends).

UK tax makes it so much more expensive to fly from Belfast to the US and is one of the reasons why Continental say they may drop their Belfast to Newark route
  • We've booked Lufhansa from belfast to ny for next april, was cheapest at the time actually so also most convienient (that is of course if its still running by that time and continental haven't pulled out of belfast because of the taxes...something to bear in mind!)

We're going to be staying here @ the desmond tutu center, leafy, away from the tourist overloaded time square, next to the new hi line park...bigger rooms, the list goes on, looks like a good place and a unlimited subway pass is like $29 which will get you anywhere touristy that you fancy.
  • Depends what you are after in NYC as to if you want a nice hotel or a nice cheap hotel.

Continental airlines are just ok. Flights are always delayed. I think next time I'd go aer lingus from Dublin.

  • Many thanks for the info.
  • Bonus on flying from Dublin is that you go through immigration in the airport departure lounge, saving valuable time queuing when you get to the US.
