probably not alot of help but the best solution I found in total desperation one day was to carefully cut it off. However that was before I found this site and had anyone to turn to for advice!

I would use a big lump of blue tac to try and dab abit aggressively at the bits, usually they get stucked onto the big lump and off the surface. this always work when I need to get rid of bits of blue tac on walls and anything else, never really tried on carpets though, but no harm testing on a small patch? can't make it much worse surely? :p good luck!

Help me! I've just been ironing and I noticed there is blu tac smushed into the folds of my favourite dress - does anyone have a way I can get it out? Its a very thin floaty silk so delicate and won't take anything vigourous. I haven't ironed over that bit thank goodness!

    Thanks for reading x

if you held the silk taut and rubbed your finger over the bluetac it might ball up as it warms and come off in one piece?

Try rubbing it very gently with another pies of clean Blu-tac; it should stick together to form a larger piece (if that makes sense).
It may then leave a greasy mark. Try removing this by putting shampoo directly onto the stain and leave it for about an hour, then wash it in cool water. Shampoo is designed for your hair, which is protein, the same as silk!

    Hi Dinah93:hello:

Hmmm. There is a thread about blu tac but it doesn't offer a lot of suggestions - but do have a look.

I would also try freezing which is treating it like chewing gum - but that's only a guess. That chewing gum thread may also have some suggestions

I'll add your thread to the blu tac one later to keep the ideas together

    Good luck with it
