Thanks everybody, long time lurker finally coming out of the closet, i got some lovely placemats and a table runner today.

WELCOME ! glad you have come out of the closet :D
  • Cannock store was rubbish, had the black canisters but the only deal on mugs was 3 for 2 I think. But then again we don't have a scanner so they might be cheaper really. I couldn't see any placemats or runners and no deals on duvets

I have come to confess ...

I went into my local last night, still on the great cutlery hunt. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw just what I was looking for - 2 packs of the Classic £2.75 boxes which hadn't been there on previous scouting trips. Unfortunately there was a couple standing right in front of them. They had a different set in their hands (2 for £20 I think), and seemed surprised when I just walked up and picked both boxes up without a second glance.

The man was trying to be really kind as he pointed out that the other sets were on offer and that they had looked at the ones I'd just selected but as there was no SEL had decided against them. I thanked him, but said I was after these ones as I already had other items from the set. Didn't see the point in telling the truth as there were no others.

My confession is that I had removed the SEL the other night, accidently on purpose. I had removed it to take to customer services for them to check if they had other stock. They took the SEL from me and obviously didn't put it back as they had no others. If they had put it back the other couple would have bought 'my' cutlery, and for that I am truly sorry ;).

hi anyone had the salter scales scanning at the lower price today? just wondering if that one was defo fixed or if it was store specific
    thanks

I finally found them yesterday and they were scanning at £18. :(

And for anyone interested in my bamboo sugar canister saga, after phoning the number I posted and being told a delivery due at a store few miles away. Off I went nice and early yesterday and they had no delivery of them or were due any. Hope no one else bothered to use the number as it is obviously not reliable, when I phoned when I got back they told me that I had been told wrong and delivery was due today. I'm going to be very MSE today and not use the petrol to make another trip. Have resigned myself to the fact I'm not going to get the matching set. :(:(:(

Anyway trip was not wasted as got couple of the £1.10 tablecloths.
Had not seen these in my local stores, they are the large ones 178 x 228cm linen look, barcode 5 051898 542900, just in case they are not marked down in some stores. And if it's any help both sizes of tablecloths say 4 - 6 seater as there is a smaller one the same colour but scanning for more. And managed to get lots of flash too so was not a wasted trip in the end. :)

Runners were still in C8stle L8ne, B0urnem0th today, as were steak knives, mini roasters, classic cutlery set, etc. Also got a double herringbone duvet cover set for £3.75!

I don't suppose you saw any bamboo sugar canisters? That's not too far from me. ;)

Hello, I live in Wimborne and am going to Fleetsbridge today so if they have one I will pick one up for you.

    Happy hunting! Chrissie
  • There are bamboo items in my store, would you like me to look for a sugar cannister? I live West Sussex but happy to post?

They had some bamboo canisters but didn't notice if they were sugar ones. Will look later and let you know.

Went to the southend store last night the lemon flash shelf was empty and out of stock and the sel was still £1.40, they had 2 of the football kids cutlery sets at 40p but i didn't need them so left them for someone else. They had 2 of the union jack glass table tops they were £1 something
I picked up a set of 2 boxes of plughole unblocker gels made by "keep it handy" i wasn't sure if they would be any good but they were £1 and there is 4 sachets in the pack! I got home and used one of the sachets as recommended on the box in my bath plug hole as it's not been draining quick enough and filling the bath as I showered, had a shower today and no problems now at all! the bonus was the 4 sachets were £1!! Much cheaper than them bottles at about £4 for one use!!
I also got a refridgerator odour remover for 50p!! Thought that would be a good idea as im away in a weeks time and as it wont be opened thought for 50p it would be a great idea!

I went into the chelmsford 24 hour store and they had none of the black canisters, but had lots of the red ones but the price was different to the ones in southend, they were £2 each! Chelmsford had loads of the skyline? mugs at 27p each!

Going to go the tesco home store in chelmsford in a mo and see what i can find in there! lol keep the top tips coming! :)
