V excited! :j Just found the list of books for this years Bookclub :T
Anyway ,now that the list is out, I was thinking of starting this thread & keeping this first post updated with the prices for the books. What does anyone think or am I the only moneysaving book-nerd on here?

edit:
This is the book list in the correct order (thanks Heavenly) with some prices & dates of publishing. As reminded by teacup - remember to try your library for free! Also Heavenly & juno suggest ReadItSwapIt.

If you were a true money saving expert you should get them them from the library!
Through the library I got a pin number and you can reserve online and then they send you a letter when it is ready to collect ( need to be a member of library though). That way when you are near the end of one book you can reserve another, (or reserve all at once )you can see online how many people have reserved it, sometimes no one has.
At my local library they always do the Richard & Judy book club and it is all displayed with lots of leaflets etc.
Its brilliant borrowed martins money diet this way too and renewed it 3 x so I had it 6 weeks. but I would part with my cash for his books as good reference

I used to like Bookbrain but gave up on when I found they don't seem add new books and now almost every time I try it, I can never find books so gave up. Do they have any book published after 2005 on it?
I use http://www.bookkoob.co.uk/ mostly, one of the good things it that "The Book People" is included so on the off chance they stock the book you are guaranteed a large saving.
I'm sure there is a comparison site around that "The Book Depository" is included but I can't find it so if anyone knows one I would love you to post it as they can have some savings on that site.0 -

!
 Ohh! Feel really stupid now! I should have thought of that. "wee bargain hunter" - my !!!
In my defence though, i did try the library last year & only managed to get one of the books. Mind you I wasn't very quick off the mark last year.
Anyway, I've taken the advice & I've just spent the last half hour on my library's web service & have managed to definately get one book. It says that another 3 are reserved but from past experience they have to come from different branches so i'll be lucky to see them by Halloween. I'll try ringing them tomorrow to see if they can give me any dates.
ps does anyone know what the running order is yet? still nothing on the Channel4 site.

Hi wee bargain hunter
Sometimes I find that the books do come sooner as some people dont get round to collecting them once reserved they give you a bit of time to get them.
I wont buy new books ,unless reference ones or cheap school fete ones like 10 p each ! . Even with the children they are set up with pin numbers from the library so they reserve their own. They read them so quickly as they do generally love books and this way they can get all the latest books they need at no cost. Teaching them to be wise ! early. Glad to help where I can, I love this website and you can always be guaranteed feedback from all the lovely wise people too X:money:2012 - Emergency savings fund goal by December 2012 £3000.000 -
hmmmn.. not well & can't sleep. _pale_ Trying to take my mind off my tummy by looking into book prices - well it's worth a try...
Anyway, the best prices seem to be at Amazon - most of the books are being published in paperback sometime this month & are on pre-order at 3.99. I'll update the first post later with the details.0
