Cheap Smells

Hi,

I was thinking of ordering a perfume from Cheap Smells. Has anyone ordered from them before, can you please share your experience?

Does any one know if the perfumes are new as i've brought a perfume once before (from somewhere else) and when i opened it it smelt stale.

Last question do the perfumes come in clear plastic wrap.

TIA

I have only recently bought from them (had been unsure about them) but picked up a few very hard to find items at very good prices and was very happy with my purchases.

I'll be using them again. :)

Hope I'm not complicating things for you but have you also tried searching the MegaShopBot for perfumes? If your not sure of any of the websites it pulls up, you could always come back here an enquire about them.

You could also try some of the major high street stores such as John Lewis, Boots, Debenhams, etc and ask for any free samples that they may have. I remember someone on here quite some time back asking in Boots for free samples and managed to get quite a few as well.

Might also help to check the Cheap Perfume guide as well.

And as missladyannie has pointed out, there's always the possibility of a little cashback as well.
  • I've used cheap smells with no problems, I'd certainly use them again.
  • I've used them loads of times and never had any need to complain.
    Always had brilliant service.

What are the differences between after shave and eau de toilette?

There are a few differences but Aftershave has less alcohol in it than EdT.

Aftershave for the face (after shaving) EdT for the pulse points. :)

Just retrieved the following from Yahoo answers:

Aftershave closes the pores and is often scented, but it's main purpose is not scent (and it's intended for men). Eau de toilette is not intended for the face and it's main purpose *is scent* (and it's generally for women or both men and women). Eau de toilette is like cologne and perfume, not aftershave.

An Aftershave contains less perfume oil (around (1%-3%), therefore the scent isn't as long lasting as an Eau de Toilette. Many aftershaves contain soothing and cooling ingredients, such as Aloe Vera. This helps soothe the skin after a shave . The alcohol contained will also close skin pores opened by the hot water from your shave. Aftershave will only last for about 2-3 hours so, it isn't effective if you want your fragrance to last all evening.

An Eau de Toilette contains more perfume oil than the Aftershave, typically around 4%-8%. However EDT's contain too much oil to be put on the face, especially after shaving. You will probably come up all red and blotchy as a result. An Eau de Cologne will contain 2%-5%. Therefore, an Eau de Cologne should be a lighter and not so longer lasting fragrance.

aftershave/perfum is more concentrated were as eau de toilette is less, and the smell lasts longer.
