Hi

i am going to the Edinburgh Tattoo on Thurs nite, and on Friday i was thinking of doing the Auld Reekie "Terror Tour" (i might do the tour and dine option, not sure yet)

anyone done this recently, or any of their other tours?

i will be in Edinburgh til Sunday, where would be a good spot to catch the fireworks at the Castle on the Sat nite?

i am guessing if they are after the 10.30pm tattoo, that would leave them on about midnight, can anyone confirm this for me,

thanks in advance,

Piggy ;)

Most nights the fireworks go around 10.30 or 11 I think - but yes the Saturday ones are later so about midnight would be right. You can see them from most of the city centre - Princes Street etc. If you want to look across at them instead of down then Arthur's Seat is ideal. It's a lovely walk to the top if the weather's nice but you need a fair amount of energy to get up there!

The tours vary hugely - and which is best is very dependent on what you like. If you're looking for a "theatrical experience" you won't want the same tour as if you want some historical accuracy :D Would also be sure to book ahead at this time of year.

Personally I would go for the Mary Kings Close tour. It is much better than Auld Reekie. I done auld reekie last year and it was terrible! The vaults they take you too are right next to a club so all you can hear is music. Not very scary!
