Hook and Eye type Fastening Thingy

Hi,

I hope this is the right place to post this type of thread. I've recently bought a second hand coat, but it has a zip and I don't really like zips on coats. I previously had a jacket with a sort of hook and eye type fastening on, excpt the 'hook' sort of opened out, you popped it through the 'eye / loop' and then closed it shut. They were great, trouble is i don't know what they're called or where to get some from, can anyone help?

I'm sorry it's not a very good description of what i'm after, but i hope you'll know what i mean :o

Thanks in advance for reading xxx

  • You got this sort of fastening a lot on fur coats - have a search on "fur clip" and see if it turns up anything like what you want!

I know the sort of thing you describe- search on ebay for haberdashery & see what comes up. I agree that local markets/haberdashers are probably a good source- and if you are near one, John Lewis often has this sort of more unusual fastening.
