I would go for this deal:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=24327681367&action=YnVuZGxlX292ZXJ2aWV3&easycode=7BKMCPDB7

It's £423.96 but that should be okay. Because you specify 1Gb of RAM (which is good), it restricts the desktops you can go for on this website which give best value, but the above deal will keep you very happy! ;)

  • Dell are cheap and cheerful they often have deal of the days on their website keep your eyes peeled on there!

The one on ebuyer is a decent deal as well which AMO pointed out! However it doesnt mention that you get the Vista (new windows) upgrade when relseased which most places are offering now!

  • If you feel like a challenge try building one yourself. Can work out a lot cheaper and makes it fully customisable so your not paying for things your never gonna use.
For a prebuild system try a computer mag reviews section (PC Pro is a good one) They run regular tests of full systems & can give you all the info you need to know before forking out.

    Try...www arbico.co.uk
    www vantagecomputers.co.uk
    www jal.co.uk
    www maxdata.co.uk
    wwariespc.com
All the above carry various warrantys and helplines.
It is very rarey cheaper to build your own,you cannot buy parts cheaper than a company who can buy in bulk, also you have high postage costs if you buy from several companys, and if you buy the wrong part or a part is not compatable with another part you are in trouble.
But most importantly if you self-build you do not get any warranty or any helpline, and you do not have many legal rights.
    hope this helps
