Hi
I have a Kenwood Chef which I use a lot for baking, but wondered about buying a mincer attachemnt.
I don't eat meat, but do cook it for husband and 2 girls and don't like buying rubbish meat. I thought one option would be to buy good quality meat and mince it myself.
Do they work and does anyone find them useful? Do I need to get a particular one to match my Kenwood or do they all fit?
Many thanks
Donna

We got ours with the second hand Kenwood we bought. We have only used it once. We do buy good quality meat at the farmers market though - so mincing our own meat was just a fun thing to do as the lamb mince we buy is very good anyway. We have two mincing blades - fine and chunky. The fine worked better.
We are planning to use it more if we decide to:
1) get a second freezer
2) use the second freezer to buy larger (bulk - e.g. half a lamb) meat purchasesEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
I don't have a Kenwood, I have a Bosch Concept machine. I have a mincer for that and it is great... we also use it to make our own sausages. Yummy
Based on that, if I had a Chef I would get the mincer attachment.0 -
I used to have a Kenwood chef (gave it to my daughter in law several years ago) with various attachments, including a mincer. All worked fine, but you would need the special kenwood mincer attachment, not any other sort. I think they are quite expensive. How about trying on Ebay, or even freecycle?0

There are two types of mincer attachments - the ones for 700 type machines and the one with the 900 series number. Unless you have a 700 series chef, get the 900 - 920? attachment. Easy. I get my attachments off ebay, you can get all the bits and pieces...:wall:0

Dad has given me my mum's Kenwood chef a901 version. It's old but still working ok. I have the basic attachments and a liquidiser. I was thinking of trying to track the mincer attachment down so I could mince up leftovers from our sunday joints and wondered anyone had one and if it was worth the expense?
Thanks in advance

Hi thifty,
This earlier thread may help:

I'll add your post to that one later to keep the replies together.

You know... I really don't think you need it... it's just more clutter. I'd be more than willing to take it off your hands so you can have the space back
:p
