Thanks for dropping by Igamogam, even though you're feeling yucky. There are so many bugs going around just now. Hope someone is taking care of you and that you feel better soon.

And thank you for the support. It really is appreciated. :)

Well, I phoned the garage and as well as a few wee things the car needs new wheel bearings. I have no idea how much this will cost. Luckily it's at my local garage and they're never in a hurry for payment.

However, I thought I was being clever putting the car in during my AL, so I don't have the hassle of trying to get to work with no car, but it now needs to be booked in next week to get this work done. I could have gone and picked it up today but I can't be bothered with the 2 mile walk and it's not like we're using it right now anyway. I'll go and collect it tomorrow.

So now I'm trying to decide which would be the best day to go without. The day I have a 180 mile round trip to do for work? Or the day with the 150 round trip? Or the day where I only have a short journey in the morning but then wouldn't be able to take it in til midday? I can't make a decision like this right now. It's all too much. It will have to wait til tomorrow.

In the future, when I'm debt free, I'm going to hire a care for the day when my own is having work done on it. I just can't cope with not knowing throughout my day how I'm going to get from one place to the next. In the meantime, I need to get the car booked in then contact work to try and arrange a lift. And hope for the best.

Why am I feeling so stressed all the time right now? I'm supposed to be relaxing!

I've just been playing with the snowball calculator again. Since I paid my supervision bill all in one go, I've managed to knock 2 months off our debt free date.

So Now it's August 2014. Which is better than it was.

:j Guess that's some good news today.

I'm craving a packet of crisps and a can of diet coke. It's awful. I can't stop thinking about it. I'm not even hungry, just greedy for a snack. :o

cars are so annoying aren't they, they never behave even when they're given a good talking to before they go for MOT's and stuff.

one of things i did as soon as i could was what you're planning - pay one years's insurance etc and then put the DD that i would have normally paid to the company into a separate account ready for the following year. When i first started doing this insurance companies had started charging 10% extra to pay monthly which may have changed but at least i'll not have to pay that again and i can use the money saved towards something else, it also gives you more bargaining power as you're able to shop around.

Yes cars are very annoying! And I even hoovered it, washed it and spoke nicely to it before it went to the garage. Maybe if I hadn't, it would have been worse though?

My current car insurance charged me £25 for the privilege of paying monthly. It's not loads, but I grudged paying it. Do council tax charge you for a monthly DD? I don't even know. I just want to have the money there to pay them, so monthly outgoings would reduce, so I'd be able to save and have more control.

It makes sense in my head. :rotfl:

council tax don't charge you so no worries there.

just think about what you could do with that £25, for me that's one month of insurance saved for, or two months of tv licence, one and a half months of water or half a month of leccy. Oh heck how sad am i that i know all these numbers without even refering to my spreadsheet!

£25 is also one month's mobile phone bill. Think the car insurance needs to the the first one I try to pay outright.

I've just cancelled my indemnity insurance. I was told months ago that I'm covered by my employer's insurance but decided to keep it 'just in case'. There's no need. so it's gone.

£9 a month is £108 a year which, paid towards debt reduces my DFD by one month.

    Good move I think. :j
