  • Only a little thing but as I usually cook loads of sausages wrapped in bacon (my lot like them for supper too) I wrapped and froze them a couple of weeks before, then just popped them into the oven on Xmas day. I would probably have done them on Xmas Eve but freezing them meant just one less thing to do.
  • Hi - people have referenced Jamie Oliver's recipes ... not heard of this one. Where can I find the details?

  • Thanks to Looneyleo - homemade bookmarks are a lovely idea :T

Christmas 2006 was lovely - DH and I were on hols until 23rd Dec, and so went to my mam's for Christmas dinner, it was lush, no cooking stresses for me, so think we may there again or to MIL's this year.

Also - was very moneysaving, as all we supplied was my homemade Christmas cake :T

Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money

  • I invited my brother this year as my SIL is a nurse and was working xmas day, but he refused as he'd been invited by two of his neighbours who lay on nibbles and drinks all day, so not far to stagger home then! but I think it's a great alternative to dinner, who eats all the dinner anyway, I have 2 dogs and I can tell you xmas dinner to them means lots of scraps, canine bins, they really enjoy it if us humans don't did a turkey this year but washing it out has put me right off, watched xmas cooks and got a really nice recipe for ham so might do that next year or get a crown. also don't forget where you put those cheap xmas cards that we all buy in january as I had to turn my house up side down this year to find them, I've put them in with the xmas decorations in the loft this year so I'd better get them out before xmas eve.

Pls be nice to all MSer's
There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.
Tomorrow never come's as today is yesterday and tomorrow is today:confused:

  • We always have a christmas dinner on christmas eve ever since the children have been small...far less stress. I just cook up a few extra bits at the same time and we have a buffet salad on christmas day. Its always meant a stressfree christmas and lots of time to spend with the family rather than the kitchen.

Something I will continue doing even when they've left home I think.
