I'm going to get some mirror tiles from ikea for the centre of our tables. We aren't allowed sand so will most likely use pebbles (we are also using pebbles as the name places), however I don't know if pebbles would look ok or what to put in amongst the pebbles?

I thought about something like this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-19...item1e66347a65

But wondered if anyone had any other thoughts?

I know you can get flip-flop glass coasters http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Flip-Flop-...item3cb2c02325 so thought about having these in the pebbles for guests to take, but when they do, the centre will just be a pile of pebbles:rotfl:
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

instead of the mirror tiles could you not get some mdf and glue loads of sand on it?

    and i love the fish!!!

could have mini beach umbrellas and a little scene set up on each one

so on one of them half sand half blue paint (the sea) and then someone swimming in the sea and a shark fin sticking out of the water

on another one a beach bar with mini people with drinks

on another one some people sunbathing and one of them bright red

on another one palm trees with surfers

    on another lifeguards

on another a beach volleyball game
The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 5

How about some buckets and name places written on small spades

  • We had wooden chairs similar to these with our names and wedding date on.

    These are nice too:

You also use pretty shells instead of sand.

You can get "moon sand" which is fabulous stuff and can be modelled into great stuff so if you could have that you could have sand castles on each table? You can also get things like " just married" rock

Surely sandpaper would be OK for the beach.

    Thank you all loads!

I love the idea of make a beach with glued down sand or sandpaper and various 'scenes'.

VICSH I also love the photo, it's possibly a bit 'formal' for me but I can certainly look at ways of adapting it, I hadn't even thought of putting sand in a vase - this forum is great :j

Thank you all for your ideas :T

or what about metal buckets with pebbles in, or fill the bucket with something to weight down and make a disc that fits the top of bucket then pva and sand stuck to the disc thats lumpy and put pebbles and few shells on top, then you could make a flag to sit in the middle with table number on it.
could always put on mirror plate.
or could you get a sand castle plastic bucket and make some sort plaster cast and decorate with sand so looks like a sand castle? might be too difficult tho.

sure will get a fab idea though!!:j

I was specifically looking for the flip flop photo/postcard holders when I found this page! But there are several ideas on there! Love the little castles - very cute.

I like VICSH photo above - very nice too.
