Need serious help!

Hi guys, been reading all the bank sites - Halifax, HSBC, Natwest, Nationwide, Lloyds TSB etc - and still confused.

I'm a first year uni student in London.

I need 3k and I need it fast - preferably within the week!
I also need around 5.5k as well.

Been doing loan quotes on the sites, and Halifax 10k personal loan at 6.9% APR so I would be paying £151.33 a month over 84 months. That is do-able for me. However, i don't have a job at the moment, applied for a few and waiting to hear back. Do I already need a job to get a loan, or can I get one as it stands?

Help needed ASAP please!
