Problems With Currys With Regard To Reseving Item

Anyone been stung by this one, was checking a website which had the best deals on it for the day and I spotted a TV stand at currys for a penny. So reserved to pick it up today but rang ahead yesterday to make sure it was there as had reserved one at another store as wanted two. (they rang me within 15 minutes to tell me they were out of stock). The item I was told was ready and told when the store was open today. Have just been down and they now tell me they wont sell me the item as it was a glitch on the system. Asked for compensating for my time and petrol etc to be stuffed a leaflet with head offices name and address. Anyone else been hit by what is a joke really. Thinking about it I wish I had paid for it yesterday instead of reserving it but isit worth persuing through to head office etc. Anyone else had luck with these types of issues before.
