Best way/place to write articles for money

Hello!
I know there are several sites where you can write articles online and then either get paid per article or get money from Adsense etc.
I was just wondering if anyone can recommend a decent site for a UK based writer? Or if anyone has any other suggestions for better ways to make money off my articles?
I was thinking of starting with a series of articles about barn owls. Bit of a niche market but I've bred, hand raised and trained them for several years and have lots of information, funny stories and photos.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I use this site called Squidoo. They pay you using Paypal and pay on how frequent your site is visited. But there is not much money that I can quit my day job. But its enough to pay my monthly internet charges. The tutorials in this site is also very good. Its a good site for someone who is starting to Blog for some money.:j:j:j0

I've been looking into something similar. A couple of the best ones are US only (Text Brokers in particular), but there's one called Associated Content, which I believe is owned by Yahoo. However, apparently it's very limited for people outwith the US, you can only accumulate a certain amount per month without providing a social security number (don't quote me on that, but it's a restriction similar to that)
There's a UK-based site similar to Text Brokers called Content Brokers, however it appears to be in Beta stage, so there's no work going at the moment, unless I'm missing something!
Personally, I've signed up to 2 sites which have been recommended to me, but I haven't used them yet, so I can't comment on how good they are - Demand Studios and BrightHub.
You could also sign up to freelance sites, or contact websites related to the topic you want to write about, offering your services.0 -

Savingdosh, do those sites actually pay for your articles? I'm only a member of Ezine, and as far as I know they don't pay (or I'm missing out!)0

They don't pay for articles, although I guess if you were to build up a profile of good quality articles you could use them as a kind of "CV" when advertising your services on sites such as Craigslist and Gumtree. This is what I have done with a certain amount of success.
One place you should avoid though is Freelancer. The people who offer work via this site are only interested in getting low-quality articles for a dollar a time from basically non-English speakers in the Third World. Unless you are prepared to compete on this level give it a bye ball.
Good luck.0 -

Just to update, I've given Demand Studios a try. The amount they pay per article is more than other sites, but the articles they want are very, very specialist, to the point where I can't find anything that I could actually write an article on, without doing several hours of research first.0 -
Blogging section on DemandStudio is only open to US citizens:

Anyone have any idea how many points to the £ on Squidoo? (or dollar as it's showing on mine)0

Although this blog is quite old, most of the links still work - lots of sites where you get paid for writing online
http://articleguide.blogspot.com/2007/05/where-can-you-get-paid-for-articles.html
A lot of people also earn money from writing their own courses - there are sites where the courses are very cheap and they are self-study.
You can get paid more for getting a letter, joke, photo or tip in print in a UK mag than writing online in a lot of cases.0
