You can buy fabric to do this...it's called 'Bondaweb' in most fabric shops.
Also, Tesco sell unbleached baking paper which is fantastic (and cheap) - nothing sticks to it!0 -

Thankyou very much for the offer but I see they have it on amazon so I'll probably nip over there and grab a copy.
Interestingly quite a lot of good stuff came up on google when I typed in make do and mend as well.0 -
Can you still buy those suede patches for elbows? Mr newleaf wears all his jumpers out at the elbow and I have threatened him with suede patches if I can find any! Years ago my mum would have darned them, but it was a skill I never managed to master, and now her eyesight is too poor to do it.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

Oh no! Every time I come on here I seem to spend money! I've had to go off and buy that book now - it sounds just like my kind of good read. Thank you (I think) CTC!0

Wonderweb is sold in my local village sewing shop for 20p a metre, and is excellent for turning up net curtains that are too long.My DD has odd sized windows in her house and we did all of her nets with this fantastic stuff.Saved me lots of sewing, as she hates doing it,mind you I'm not mad keen myself either.0
