Hi, I am sure a durabrand owner will be along shortly to help you!
In my bm, the wholemeal loaf takes longer. But I shan't confuse you! Have you done much in the breadmaking?0 -

Yep, that's the one to follow - americans tend to say whole wheat when we say wholemeal - same thing though.

Thanks - got another question then - what is "Wheat Gluten" and do i really need it.Hoping that when I start looking after the pennies, and the pounds will take care of them selves :j0 -
This tells you about wheat gluten
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheat_gluten_(food)
But it will be difficult to get hold of. I've never used it and I make wholemeal bread a lot

Is this bread flour or bread mix?
All of the bread mixes I have used only need water added but you have to follow your BM instructions in respect of which order to put the items in. For example, one of the Lakeland mixes goes, flour, yeast, water but my BM states water, flour yeast so I follow the BM instructions for use, but the quantities on the packet.
Adding a crushed vitamin C tablet to the ingredients for a wholemeal loaf improves the quality of the loaf produced as well.0
