Tesco mega reductions thread (updated)

Went to another Tescos today - addicted to those Silverskin onions in raspberry red wine vinegar. They didn't have them though. boo hoo. Wish we hadn't left so many on the shelves for others now as they'd gone by the time we realised how delicious these are.

They had some of the 1p things listed on here BUT the items had price reduction stickers with barcodes. Not too reduced on these. No scanners in store & as I'd already checked a dozen prices with customer services I didn't like to check what they went through at. Any idea anyone?

Also surprised that some of the same items I'd bought in my local & listed here were scanning at full price - even tho. dates the same as the ones I purchased. anyone else found this? WHY??

Prices seem to vary store to store, even in the same area.

In Tesco the small camera cases are only 1p and they come in black pink or red they are about 6 inches by 2 and come with a strap . We gave them to the children for thier tiny mp3 players.

I have been looking out for the 1p items but none near me - or so I thought.
Picked up a couple of boxes of Foxes brandy snaps reduced to 24p - good value at that price,but they went through the till at 1p!
Went back and bought some more and decided to try the tinned goose fat (great for roast potatoes) SEL 25p also scanned at 1p!
The spiced picillili listed earlier as 1p was 34p though so I think it's a bit random.
If I go again later in the week I might try a few more 'test' items!

Tesco use store specific reductions to manage stock levels across different stores - What may be an overstock for a smaller store may be nothing for a larger store. Same goes for specific lines. If one store has 500 of a line but the next has 10, the reduction will be targeted at the store with the problem.

In Bridgend on Monday - precision screwdriver set (10 screwdrivers the small ones ideal for specs and battery compartments) 10p hardly any stock though. In Swansea today they were 50p each but a huge basket full. Also in Swansea sets of wire brushes 10p.

I have been in Tesco Glossop today & many small DIY items are only 1p!!! This includes scissors, box of picture hooks, set of allen keys, set of precision screwdrivers, pack of sandpaper, spirit level & ruler, 100 disposable gloves etc etc.:T

They are priced at 25p but scan at 1p.

1p is cheap! They were 25p for screwdrivers and 10p for clamps in Cumbernauld!

Sign said 25p but all scanned at 1p
