This is to match the 16p Pork sausages (8 large - 1lb/454g) that Asda started selling about a week ago.

These (the ASDA ones) were tasted & compared along with about 8 other brands by a top chef, a nutritionist and some kids.

They did NOT come bottom in any of the tests. (I think that fell to some Sainsburys ones at TWELVE times the price - LAST PLACE EVERY TIME I seem to remember)

The ASDA ones had LESS SALT, LESS FAT and LESS CALORIES than ALL the others !!!

Whilst the flavour was somewhat lacking - they were the HEALTHIEST of the bunch.

Not sure how these Tesco ones would have fared !!!!!!!!!!!

Slightly deviating from the subject of the thread but the Asda sausage contain only 38% meat. It is recommended that if you buy sausage/burgers etc then try and buy it with at least 70% meat content and higher if poss.

I know it does come down to price for some people but generally speaking you get what you pay for.

This is on the semi-skimmed as well, I bought 1 whole and 1 semi-skimmed and the till took 88p off.

ASDA is doing exactly the same.

All varieties, full, semi & skimmed for 25p a pint with a multi-buy offer.

2 x 4 pints for £2

2 x 6 pints for £3
